11/30/08
Water Temp. 58
Water Clarity 2-3 feet
Sam Rayburn is at 157.09 ft the water temperature has been around
58 degrees. The water has been murky in places because of the wind.
This week has
been on and off. The best day was just beautiful with lots of
sunshine that warmed things up nicely. By the afternoon we got
on a pattern that was hot. After that we started jumping around
picking up fish here and there and had a blast till dark. Saturday
we were out again. The morning started off hot with 6 fish coming
in at the first spot. Then it just died. We moved around there
and couldn’t get any
more fish to bite. The second spot we picked up 3 fish; one was
a beauty; but it was tough so we moved on. Then next couple of
places we got a few short bumps but no takers. Not giving up,
we started changing baits and finely found one they would hit.
With a few more fish to add to our catch we called it a day and
enjoyed a beautiful sunset as we rode into the marina.
I know the report is late but we’ve been working on a new
data base to update the old fishing reports. There are 3 years
of reports that will be available in the next few days with pictures
of the week. This is a lot of info for the hard core angler to
use to help get an idea of what the fish may be doing at any given
time. There will be little tips and tidbits on fishing Sam Rayburn
there also.
The City of
Warsaw is out of the water on the south side. I have had a lot
of folks asking where it is. This may help you in finding it.
If you’re running up the lake and
you go under the 147 bridge to the long cut up the Angelina River
it is just before you get to the timber line. The old Rail Road
ran beside the town and unloaded rail cars there.
The Crappie
have been moving around a lot with some up the river and some
over the brush piles. We did get out and catch a few off the
New Pontoon boat that we have at Jackson Hill Marina. We are
booking trips for the springs so don’t
wait to long. Round up your friends and get your trip booked.
We can handle up to 10 anglers on the pontoon.
If you haven’t
heard about The Bass Class on the water check it out on the website
and give me a call. Come on down and learn some nifty little
tricks that will put some fish in the boat.
Remember the
Budweiser Sharelunker Program entries started on October 1 and
run thru April 30th. If you haven’t heard,
it encourages anglers who caught a 13 - pound- plus largemouth
bass to lend or donate it to the TPWD for spawning purposes.
There are some great benefits doing this, and one of them is
getting a full color, life size, fiberglass replica of the bass.
(October 1-April 30 only) If your fish meets the requirements
listed above, call their toll-free, 24-hour pager at 1-888-784-0600
or (903) 681-0550.Check out the Program rules and benefits at http://www.tpwd.state.tx.us/spdest/visitorcenters/tffc/budsharelunker/rules/
Big
D Outdoors is the place to look for your new or used boat. Bass
Cat will have a new 21 ft boat out next year. If you're
looking for a new boat or a good used boat go down and check out
the boats in D. J's
lot. I know there is a good 05. 929 Nitro that still has warranty
left on the engine. So, what are you waiting for? If you need some
service work get down there and let them take care of it. Give
them a call 409-769-3700.
P.S. Check out the website for more tips.
