Fishing report from last week.
05-17-08 - Kerr Lake
Water level 305-306
Water temps 65-70
Started the day out shallow in the Flemingtown area. Had a few
blow ups on a mans hardnose frog (white), did a little flipping
and shook a few fish off a brushhog. Saw a ton of fry. Picked
up a spinnerbait with a hook guard, and had a few takers. Stayed
in the Nutbush area all day. Felt confident on a limit for the
next day NBC tournament. Nothing big but felt we could land a
limit fairly quick.
05-18-08 - Kerr Lake NBC Tournament
Water level 305-306
Water Temps 65-70
Started out in Little Nutbush Creek, within the first 15 minutes
we lost 2 fish. One on a buzzbait and the other on a frog. Went
to another pocket throwing the frog and saw a 2 pounder take
off from the bank. We sat there for a minute and spotted the
fry he was guarding. Flipped a Deep Creek Lure soft plastic to
him and he ate it. One fish in the boat would be our last for
the day. We stayed shallow all day. We missed a few more in the
thick brush. No spinnerbait bite to speak of. We ended the day
with 1 keeper, loaded the boat and went home. Looking forward
to fishing Falls in June.
